About Chelsie Cartwright

Chelsie Cartwright was born and raised in the small town of Eunice, Louisiana. She has six brothers and is the middle child. She has a strong love for God, family and friends.

Chelsie graduated with honors in Mass Communications from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Throughout her collegiate career, she has maintained the highest performance standards within a diverse range of the communication curriculum. Chelsie is interested in all fields of mass communication such as journalism, production, public relations and web content.

She enjoys all steps of production. She has produced and hosted multiple shows for Inside McNeese, a show put on by the mass communication department of MSU for the Government Channel in Lake Charles, LA. Chelsie has participated in researching for potential stories, writing segments and dialogues for each episode, scheduling and conducting interviews, hosting episodes, editing video and audio for a constant volume and ambience on the show.

Chelsie has always had a passion for movies, music, fashion, and entertainment news. Having this passion, she decided to pursue an internship in Los Angeles, CA. She obtained an internship at Young Hollywood, a highly respected entertainment website. At Young Hollywood, she participated in meetings with the CEO and staff of Young Hollywood on how to better the website. She researched all elements of entertainment, fashion, and electronics and wrote multiple blurbs published on YoungHollywood.com. Other jobs included creating polls and photo galleries for the website, and attending shoots where Young Hollywood’s correspondents interviewed celebrities.

Chelsie has experience creating multiple football highlight films for high school athletes, creating web pages, and designing magazine/newspaper/photo layouts.

Through her experiences at McNeese State University with Inside McNeese and her internship in Los Angeles, CA for Young Hollywood, she was able to grow as a journalist and editor by working with a great team and by having her work published. By maintaining a job throughout her collegiate career, she has learned the importance of time management, self-motivation and organization.
